Badger Age Group Coach Carle' Fierro Named "Age Group Coach of the Year"

 Junior Olympic Records Smash as Badger Wins It's Third Consecutive Overall Team Title: 2007, 2008 & 2009 at The Metropolitan Junior Olympics !

    7 year olds take 5 Records this week-end at the 8&U Meet. Congrats to Emmeline Berridge, Brendan Lee, Liam Loveless and Connor Popp

This week-end the Badger Boys broke all four 7 Year old Meet & Pool records at the 8&U Meet held at the Boys and Girls Club or Northern Westchester on November 14, 2009.

The meet started off with Brendan Lee taking the 7 year old 25 Fly record with Connor Popp also under record time in 2nd place. Then both Connor Popp and Brendan Lee broke the 50 backstroke record, Popp taking the title and record. Liam Loveless splashed in with the 25 breastroke record with Brendan Lee touching 2nd, also under the Meet and Pool record time. Then all four 7 year old boys smashed the 25 free record with Brendan Lee taking the title, Liam Loveless 2nd, Connor Popp 3rd and Justin DiSanto 4th. Great job boys. Both Girls and Boys relays took the Gold: Congratulations to Girls Relay Team of Molly Bugniazet, Zoe Steffenson, Sabrina Vumbacco and Mikayla Klein. Great swimming to Boys relay team of: Benjamin Mahoney, Brendan Lee, Nicolas Torres and Sam Golovin. Not to be outdone by the boys, Emmeline Berridge, smashed the 7 year old 25 breaststroke record by 2 seconds. Amazing swimming Emmeline.

Nicole Parry Takes Title at National Age Group Challenge Meet - November 2009

Last weekend in Boyds, Maryland Nicole Parry took the 50 Freestyle title at the National Age Group Challenge Meet. With 100% personal Best Performance that week-end, Nicole took 2nd in the 100 Free and breaststroke and 4th in the 200 IM. Other top performances that weekend were from: Hiroki Kaneko, 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke, 200 IM and 200 Free and 3rd in the 100 Free...Ryan Lee, 2nd in the 100 fly, 3rd in the 50 free, 4th in the 100 free and 6th in the 100 back, With 100% personal Best Performance that week-end. Aristedes Speres, 2nd in the 200 Breast and 4th in the 50 and 100 Freestyle events, With 100% personal Best Performance that week-end.

About Us

  The Badger Age Group Team is part of the Badger Swim Club based in Larchmont New York.  Badger Swim Club is the only USA Swimming Gold Medal Club in Westchester County.  The USA Swimming Excellence in Club Swimming Program is a voluntary program that identifies and recognizes USA Swimming clubs for their commitment to excellence in operation, performance, and the support and development of USA Swimming.  Badger Swim Club is a member of Metropolitan Swimming.

The 10 & Under Badger Age Group Team is a specialized Age Group Swim Program based out of the New Rochelle High School in New Rochelle, New York & The College of New Rochelle  Children from ages 4 to 10  are introduced to competitive swimming and eventually coached to reach their individual potential in swimming.  Proper form is reinforced through drills.  Endurance and interval training is introduced.  Swimmers are introduced to all aspects of swimming including self-respect and respect for others, commitment, goal setting, strategies in achieving goals, and sportsmanship.

Coach Carle' Fierro Named "Age Group Coach of the Year" : I am proud to announce that my mother, Carle Fierro has been elected "Metropolitan Age Group Coach of the Year" by her peers and fellow coaches. This distinguished award is thanks to all of our hard work as a staff, but more importantly to all the hard work put in from our dedicated swimmers and parents. This year our relay dominance and solo performances were rewarded with more than just medals. I hope you will join me, a proud son and employee, in thanking and congratulating Carle for all her hard work. Rye Native and All-American Ryan Feeley  closes Junior Pan Pacs with Gold Medal !               Bronxville native Whitney Sprague, Bronxville's Whitney Sprague, a three-time All-America swimmer who will be a senior at North Carolina, recently won gold and silver medals at the World University Games.   New Rochelle native, Rachel Kessler, 14,  takes 4 medals in 4 events at the World Maccabiah Games; Silver medals in the 200 meter Butterfly & 800 meter Freestyle and Bronze medals in the 400 meter freestyle 400 meter Individual Medley
